Obama Backs Mosque Near Ground Zero
Source: GretaWire

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country’s founding principles demanded no less.

“As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country,” Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York and the nation.

WRONG, BARACK. Muslims may have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in America does; but kids can’t pray in school. God cannot be mentioned in any public place. Government funds are NOT being shoveled into building Christian churches. They have the SAME RIGHT — NOT MORE rights. Another example of All animals are equal. Some animals are more equal than others.. UNBELIEVABLE. Why are we sending this imam around on our tax dollars, too? OH, and let’s not forget the funds WE’RE GIVING to build MOSQUES AROUND the WORLD. That’s RIGHT. NOT only here in America… but the WORLD. How much funding is going towards building temples and churches for OTHER religions? Is is balanced? Are we only spreading the Islamic ideas and beliefs? I think we all know the answer to these questions.

“That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances,” he said. “This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

People, this is NOT right. Would it be acceptable for someone to build a tribute/monument to the KKK at the very site Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech? Would it be acceptable for someone to build a Confederate tribute/monument where Abraham Lincoln was shot? No, these aren’t “religious institutions”, but they are just as insulting and disrespectful. There are just some things that are NOT acceptable, and finding “loopholes” and “grey areas” in an attempt at justifying such a piece of shit act… Just, no.

AND FOR FUCK’S SAKE. OUR CONSTITUTION PROHIBITS AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS/GOVERNMENT FUNDS going towards funding any religion.

Obama’s a POS SCUMBAG. I hope he and every POS SCUMBAG backing the building of this satanic temple come to a sorry end. Will the unions have the balls to refuse to work on this?

      I hope and I pray…

But I’ve learned that the longer you hold your breath; the closer you come to passing out.

Not to mention the most recent “WTFery” move involving unions — cutting funds for food stamps (yes, at a time where unemployment and debt rates are higher than they’ve been since the Great Depression) to give bonuses to teacher unions.

Not only are they brainwashing our children at government run education camps (I mean, schools) but now they’re going to make sure they’re malnourished at the same time.

      THIS. HAS. GOT. TO. STOP.

OBAMA HAS ONCE AND FOR ALL EXPOSED HIMSELF FOR THE ENEMY SYMPATHIZER THAT HE IS.

If people refused to believe it before and wrote it off as “coincidence” or “conspiracy theory”… this has GOT to prove it. What if we rally against the mosque and demand that the biggest, shiniest, most amazing church was built instead? His panties would be all SORTS of bunged up.

“Oh, uh uh uh, um, let me make one thing clear, uh, we, um, are not a Christian nation, and, uh, uh, I will not, um, rest, until we, uh, restore peace, and um, uh, I, as I have said before, uh, promote peace, uh, with, Islam.”

If I had the job of writing the transcripts for every “speech” he gave, I would charge an extra $100 bones for every “UH”, “UM”, and “LET ME MAKE ONE THING CLEAR” that I had to type.

He is right. This country boasts religious freedom. As awful and tragic as September 11th was and still is for our country and citizens, that does not mean you can go back on our founding principles of religious freedom for all religions. I will say though, there is one coincidence occurring this year between September 11th and Muslims. This year, a major Muslim holiday has fallen on September 11th due to the calender.

He may be right in what he said, but he is lying about what he means. Any Muslim who claims to want “peace” will see and understand that this isn’t right; and it’s painful for everyone impacted by 9/11. That does not promote peace, it just intensifies the “islamic stereotype”.

Our founding principles of religious freedom does not mean any religion gets government funds to grow and build; to spread their message. Our founding principles of religious freedoms mean that we can choose to follow whatever religion we want, as citizens, without government interference.

The US Constitution promotes separation of church and state; and that ALSO means separation of “mosque and state”. Government funds going towards spreading the ideas of ONE religion over ANY others is unconstitutional. Hell, even if the funds were spread evenly amongst the various religions, it would be unconstitutional.

Any Muslim who wants to convince others that Islam is a religion of peace (which is a load of pigshit anyway) ought to be smart enough to understand the insensitivity of this entire thought.

Obama is speaking out of both sides of his mouth. You fell for it.

How does building a place of worship intensify the Islamic stereotype? To me, honestly, that makes no sense. And how are you sure this Mosque is being funded by the government? Obviously the builders have not been very transparent about where their funds have originated from but that does not automatically mean the government is responsible.
You would be surprised that Islam is a religion of peace. Those that are violent make up a very small percent of religion. There are many Islamic practicing peoples living in the United States, and you would never suspect it.
Also, Cardoba is an initiative known for promoting good relations between the West and Muslims. Even the mayor of NYC has come to support the building. Don’t you think that should at least give you a peace of mind? It’s not like you can push out the Mosque anyway. It’s zoned for what they’re doing.

Another concern… what are they going to do; shut down the entire block so all of the raghead terrorists can lay out their mats and spew that babble-bullshit in the direction of Mecca several times a day? Are they going to lay out their mats in the middle of the roads? There’s so much more to this entire thing than most people are even considering.

That’s just disrespectful. And come on, the place is built for worship. They’ll be inside. Not taking over the block. That’s not how praising towards Mecca works.

      • August 14, 2010 11:23 pm

Dude, I’m pretty sure you’re just innocently naive about the whole thing.

Damn right it’s disrespectful. Thank God I’m not the kind who gets inside of airplanes and crashes them into buildings ultimately resulting in the slaughter of 3,000 innocent lives. I guess it’s pretty mild as far as disrespect goes, yes?

To that end, early in its tenure the Bush administration began a serious effort to seek out and support moderate Islam. Since then, Washington has funded mosques, schools, institutes, and community centers that are trying to modernize Islam around the world.

We should be encouraging groups like the one behind this project, not demonizing them. Were this mosque being built in a foreign city, chances are that the U.S. government would be funding it.

      http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/aug/10/tax-dollars-to-build-mosques/

The State Department is sending Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf – the mastermind of the Ground Zero Mosque – on a trip through the Middle East to foster “greater understanding” about Islam and Muslim communities in the United States….

The State Department defends the five-country tour saying that Mr. Rauf is “a distinguished Muslim cleric,” but surely the government could find another such figure in the United States who is not seeking millions of dollars to fund a construction project that has so strongly divided America….

…Americans also may be surprised to learn that the United States has been an active participant in mosque construction projects overseas. In April, U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania Alfonso E. Lenhardt helped cut the ribbon at the 12th-century Kizimkazi Mosque, which was refurbished with assistance from the United States under a program to preserve culturally significant buildings. The U.S. government also helped save the Amr Ebn El Aas Mosque in Cairo, which dates back to 642. The mosque’s namesake was the Muslim conqueror of Christian Egypt, who built the structure on the site where he had pitched his tent before doing battle with the country’s Byzantine rulers. For those who think the Ground Zero Mosque is an example of “Muslim triumphalism” glorifying conquest, the Amr Ebn El Aas Mosque is an example of such a monument – and one paid for with U.S. taxpayer funds….

Happy to educate. Just doing my part.
