The private sector is the one to blame for not bringing up pay levels to the 21st century. Dont’bloame someone with 30 years experience and working their way up through the rannks to make 70,000 dollars a year in the government. After all the deductions are taken, it’s not even close to 70,000.

And another thing, this figure is way overstated. Just rememeber, everyone has an axe to grind and will overstate and inflate figures any way they can.

I must disagree. The private sector cannot compete against government and unionized industries. What’s good for the goose is NOT good for the gander in this case. The private sector, unlike the government workers, are not protected against the burdens, restrictions, and taxes placed on various industries and individuals. They both have very different standards; failing to see that is a flaw that many of us have, but believe me; having worked for BOTH the government, small business owners, and currently being a small-business owner myself, I can tell you that this article isn’t as slanted as you make it sound.

Also, consider the shit that’s about to hit the private sector in the next… oh, let’s say 6 months to a year.
