Creepy old freak. Letterman’s trash VS. Palin’s class.

June 12, 2009

We’ve ALL seen it – I even posted it a few days ago, but just for shits:

Is anyone else troubled by the title of the video? “Letterman on Sarah Palin’s daughter”? What a creepy old fart.

“I’m Dave Letterman. I have a six year old boy. I like sexually perverted jokes about teenage girls!”

Sarah Palin Calls for Uprising Against Letterman for Joke About Her Daughter
Article: ABC News

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called on the public to rise up in opposition over David Letterman’s “degrading” jokes about her daughter this week. In a Friday morning television interview on NBC’s “Today” show, Gov. Palin said the late-night comedian’s remarks are a “sad commentary on where we are as a culture, as a society, to chuckle and laugh through comments such as he had made the other night, I think is quite unfortunate.”

Letterman’s explanation that he was referring to her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, instead of her 14-year-old daughter, Willow, who accompanied her recently to New York, was met with derision by the governor. She called the remarks a “very convenient excuse” that took him a couple of days to present. “It was a degrading comment about a young woman. I would hope that people really start rising up and deciding it’s not acceptable. No wonder young girls especially have such low self-esteem in America when we think it’s funny for a so-called comedian to get away with being able to make such a remark as he did and to think that that’s acceptable,” Palin said.

Wednesday, after two days of back and forth between Alaska’s first family and the late-night talk show host, the Palins today refused Letterman’s invitation to come on his show after he offered an apology for comments he made earlier in the week about the governor and her daughter.

Letterman’s “Top 10” list Tuesday night focused on Palin’s recent trip to New York, and included several cracks: “Bought makeup from Bloomingdale’s to update her ‘slutty flight attendant’ look,” Letterman said.

But it was a line in Letterman’s monologue that set off a firestorm: “One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

Palin was in New York with her 14-year-old daughter, Willow.

“The Palins have no intention of providing a ratings boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show. Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman,” PalinPAC spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said Wednesday.

We get it, Dave. You’re in direct competition with Conan. If cheap shots and tacky jokes about raping a child is all you have left – you might as well give up now.
You’ve got several decades on Conan – it’s not likely he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. It was, however, a nice attempt at getting Palin on your show to boost your ratings.
Palin is electrifying. Wouldn’t it be amazing if she and her family DID appear on your show and gave you that monsterous boost in ratings? How long do you think it’ll be before Conan extends an invitation to the Palins and they ACCEPT? That would be the final swift kick in the nards that you’re begging for, Dave.

FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FCC. (Thanks again Frosteetos)
It only takes a moment – and if enough people show their outrage for Letterman’s lack of class and tact – I KNOW we can make a difference.
This was beyond inappropriate. It is disgusting, perverted, and absolutely un-called for.

Letterman couldn’t even work up the nards to properly apologize to the Palins – especially Willow, who is a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD CHILD. “Oopsiedoodle. I MEANT her NON-JAILBAIT CHILD!!”

Letterman should be known as a “Lesserman”, most every man is a better man than “letterman”. He is despicable` and his apology was false only followed by another sick joke. He perhaps should be joking about knocking up his son’s mother before getting married.

I have not watched this creep and do not intend to. I will however contact the show and network.

Every ounce of respect for that man I might have had before is now gone. I understand that sometimes you make fuckups. We’re all ONLY HUMAN. Take Don Imus for instance. When he called those basketball girls “nappy headed hos” – he profusely apologized and was genuinely sorry for what he had said. He even lost his job over his ONE statement – and apologized AFTER he was fired, to no physical benefit to himself other than to right a wrong that was HIS fault.

Letterman? He didn’t even try to apologize. He’s not sorry for what he said. In fact, I think he’s so starved for attention that he’s embracing this fuckup as a good thing. He doesn’t care if it’s GOOD attention or negative attention. He just knows he wants it.

What a shame. All he had to do was just say he was sorry. Do you think Sarah Palin would have been as offended if he was sincerely sorry and TOOK his opportunity to make a decent apology? She doesn’t strike me as the kind to hold an unnecessary grudge. Attacking a child like that on an international platform is idiotic from a celebrity that calls himself a comedian.
